Cobblestone in Eagle, Idaho

This is a beautiful home in Eagle Idaho that I shot on an overcast day.  Sometimes low light situations can enhance the interior shots immensely, but post editing can be a bit more involved when 'enhancing' the grey skies.  Especially with HUGE picture windows.  This house was flanked by two beautiful ponds that had just been recently stocked with HUGE fish.  Note to self: Put fishing pole and gear in my car for future use!

New Construction on Mesa Verde

This custom built home was tastefully staged and was ready to be photographed.  This is a re-shoot of the interiors highlighting the open nature of the floor plan.  I enjoyed photographing this home but was admittedly challenged to balance the ambient light and my handheld flash.

Downtown Condo: City Side Lofts

This was a unique condo, located on the 5th floor of the City Side Lofts building, with 16' ceilings!  I had a bit of a challenge trying to get some front exteriors, as my timing left a bit to be desired. Lunchtime was not the most opportune moment to avoid traffic at the intersection of Myrtle and 13th st.  But I think I got a few excellent shots...  along with a wee bit of editing!

Lost and then Found..ers

I was lucky enough to shoot a home in the new subdivision, Legacy, in Eagle Idaho.  This  was a 4725 square foot home on West Founders Way.  Holy Smokes, it was big, but I had a lot of fun shooting it.  The interior was a bit tricky because of the heavy architecture, cove ceilings, HUGE windows and dark wood.  But I always love a good challenge and was very pleased with the outcome!  Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot.  WOOT!

75° in March!!

The weather was gorgeous this weekend, so i had a little fun with my daughter who is an aspiring young photographer herself.  She seems to have an aversion to using a flash, so I thought this was a good opportunity to school her in the use of handheld strobes.  We also had a lesson in AF-L as my lens wanted to focus on the chives, and not her.  She is also an excellent subject to photograph, but I am biased, as I think she is beautiful on the inside and out!

My own Private Idaho

A great weekend to give thanks.... for such a fabulous life!

Retrospective - Marsing, ID

After a shoot in lovely downtown Marsing, Idaho - I decided to take in the countryside, which is chock full of orchards, wineries, and dairy farms.  I was in a bit of a retrospective mood, and the photos I ended up taking reminded me of olden times.

I created these using Photoshop CC and a series of layers to create a 19th Century look and feel...

China Cat Sunflower

Look for awhile at the China Cat Sunflower, proud-walking jingle in the midnight sun
Copper-dome Bodhi drip a silver kimono, like a crazy-quilt stargown
through a dream night wind

Krazy Kat peeking through a lace bandana, like a one-eyed Cheshire
like a diamond-eye Jack, a leaf of all colors plays a golden string fiddle
to a double-e waterfall over my back

Comic book colors on a violin river, crying Leonardo words
from out a silk trombone I rang a silent bell
beneath a shower of pearls in the eagle wing palace
of the Queen Chinee

Shenandoah Court

Inspired by the high desert rock formations of Owyhee Desert’s Leslie’s Gulch, this house was designed with the philosophy of using the site,  a dramatic steep slope and trapezoidal shape, to define the house.**

What fun I had shooting this one!

Out of Focus -- back in five minutes!

Over the Labor Day weekend, I sojourned at a friend's cabin in Cascade, Idaho.  I had big plans to do some long exposure photography of the night sky as there is NO light pollution and the moon was no where in sight.

Well, I blew it!  I made a fundamental mistake.  Cameras don't focus without light.  DUH!  And, manual focus doesn't work either cause ya can't see a darn thing at 1:30am.

NOTE TO SELF: Focus the shot before it gets dark, dummy!!

A Few Garden Shots......

I used my longer Nikkor 18-140mm lens and noticed that I need to clean it.  Oh well.....  hope you enjoy the photos!
